DFAT Authentication: The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is the only authority in Australia that can authenticate documents for international use. Because the UAE is not part of the Hague Apostille Convention, DFAT issues an Authentication Certificate rather than an apostille. Under this system, you submit an application through the MOFA website using UAE Pass. A single application covers both the UAE Embassy attestation and the final MOFA attestation. The original physical document is still required, and a MOFA-approved service provider arranges document pickup and return by courier. Most digital attestation requests are completed within 2 to 3 business days.

MOFA Attestation in the UAE: If you used the digital attestation service, the MOFA stamp is included in the same application as the embassy attestation. If the attestation was done through the older physical process, the document must be separately submitted to MOFA in the UAE (at an attestation centre in Abu Dhabi, Dubai or Sharjah) for final verification.
Once MOFA attestation is complete, the Australian degree is legally recognised throughout the UAE for the purpose stated in the application.
